A Sam without a Josh is like a Robin without a Batman!

Sam has really missed Josh this week. He even cried at the door a few times when Josh and John were driving away to school, but this has all translated into some really nice Mommy and Sam time! Here are a few pictures of Sam getting crazy on the floor waiting for his big brother to come home!








After an exciting morning at the Children's Museum with Carrie and Marley, followed by lunch at Juanita Greenberg's, Sam fell asleep in the car while waiting to pick Josh up from school. He looks like a little cherub when he sleeps!


There's nothing in the world like cuddling with your best buddy after a long day apart!

Mabel doubled her weight in 1.5 weeks!

She's 10 lbs and counting!!! Isn't she a pretty girl? Now I just wish she would stop biting my ankles!!!

Josh's First Day of School!

This was this morning getting ready for school at breakfast time. He has on his "grubbies."

This one I took right outside the front of the school. I wonder if I was the only parent to take a picture at the school. Luckily there were no other kids around to tease us...



And this one is right outside his classroom! His teacher, Miss Patte, must really like the Cat in the Hat. I think it is sort of the theme for the year!

Update: Josh had an excellent first day of school. When we picked him up in the car rider line, we asked him how his day was. He said, "It was FANTASTIC!!! I had a BLAST!!!" Yes, Mommy cried a few tears this morning after leaving him in the classroom...(and a few last night after putting him to bed).... but I am feeling better now! I'm so proud of my little boy, and I'm ecstatic that he already seems to LOVE school! Way to go, Joshie Squashie!!!

He's gotta go back! back! back to school again!

The dream is over. John has officially gone back to school. And in just 3 short days, Josh will be joining him. Then Sam will be at school starting September 3. What am I going to do?!?? At least I have Mabel to keep me company. That's right, folks. We named our puppy Mabel. We tried to go with Molly, but the vet, nurse and receptionist at Banfield said that Mabel was a MUCH better name. Apparently, Molly is one of the two most popular names for female dogs. Plus, I just didn't feel right calling her Molly. It didn't seem to fit her personality. Josh and Sam both liked Mabel better too. And John thought Mabel was a more unique name with a lot more personality. (No offense to anyone who has named their dog Molly. It's a perfectly lovely, sweet name - it just wasn't for us.)
