Long Time, No Post!

It sure has been a while, folks! As you all know, a few weeks ago, we vacationed at North Litchfield Beach. Needless to say, we had a blast and did not want to return to the real world. There is just nothing like a beach vacation. Every morning, we were awakened, not by the sound of the pounding surf, but by two little boys, eager to start yet another perfect day at the beach. We would eat our breakfasts...POP TARTS!!!...what a vacation treat! Then we would all get into our swimsuits, lather up with sunscreen, load up the wagon with beach toys, hop on the golf cart (even though we were a VERY SHORT walk to the beach access) and head to the beach! Josh really came into his own this year with the ocean. Last year, he was a little timid, but this year, he was jumping those "mama-jama" waves! Sam enjoyed the ocean, too, but mostly preferred to lay in the sand and pester Granny for scooby snacks! Brian enjoyed early morning fishing excursions on the beach. He caught a fish most every single morning - croaker once and several shark! Josh, being the seafood NUT that he is, devoured each fish that Uncle Brian brought back to the house. The first time Brian caught a shark, Daddy came back to the house to fetch the boys and I, and we all went down to the beach before 7am to check out the little shark. Josh even got to carry him home! Becca and I enjoyed many hours of Double Solitaire and Margaritas!!!! Granny enjoyed the specialty grocery we discovered - Kudzu's! And she also discovered the joys of a Starbucks Mint Mocha Chip Frappucino...with the chocolate whipped cream! Papa enjoyed his birthday and the golf cart! And John, thankfully, enjoyed not cutting his foot to shreds this year!!! Also, Becca, Brian, John and I enjoyed a drunken late night joy ride all over the neighborhood in the golf cart!!! We will never again go to the beach without renting that awesome vehicle of fun! We ate many fine meals, did a little shopping, rode the rides at the Pavilion section of Broadway at the Beach, enjoyed spending time with Brian's parents, Tess and R.V., as well as Aunt Abbie, Uncle Mike and William, and just generally had a wonderful, restful time. I don't know about anyone else, but I, for one, relish the beach life. There is nothing in the world like spending all morning digging in the sand....sand in your toes, sand under your nails, sand in your hair, sand dripped onto your legs and feet by silly little boys...then washing it all of in the cool of the Atlantic...fearing the fishies that you know are around and what might be washing in on that next wave, but loving the feel of that same wave crashing into your big bottom! Dragging a beach chair right to the edge of the ocean and just sitting there lazily, letting the waves wash right over your legs and toes. A few hours later, you start to feel hungry and head back to the beach house for a sandwich, chips and a late afternoon drink. Playing some cards on the porch, dining out at Pawleys, going to sleep later than you should and then waking up the next day to do it all over again. No cares in the world. No stress, no appointments, nothing but the slow, easy ways of North Litchfield Beach...there is no place in the world like it. I can't wait to return...

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! I am so jealous. I was telling Jerime about your trip and how badly I want to go. Of course, it is always in a couple of years when the kids are older. YUCK! Loved the pictures of the sunset. How beautiful was that. Good to see the pictures. Thanks!
